Paired Exchange Patient Program
When creating or updating your patient profile, select “I’m open to being a Paired Kidney Exchange patient.” That one choice creates more ways to match—and more lives saved.
Paired kidney exchange—also called kidney paired donation (KPD)—is a way for two or more donor–patient pairs to “swap” donors so that each patient receives a kidney that is medically compatible. Even when a donor is not a match for their own loved one, they may be the perfect match for someone else who also has a willing but incompatible donor.
These exchanges can be simple two-way swaps or more complex chains involving several pairs. When an altruistic, non-directed donor joins the process, a single generous gift can start a chain of transplants that helps many patients. Please see more details at https://matchingdiabetes.com/paired-exchange/.

This section helps you keep track of donors you’ve marked as potential matches. Saving a donor allows you to easily return to their profile and stay organized as you explore who you may be able to help.
You can also add personal notes to each saved donor—such as communication history, medical considerations, or reminders—so you can monitor your progress and stay updated throughout your patient journey.
